The first German qualification of the middle part was held in Ettlingen on May 1. As this race was the only race before the 1:10 scale A-Euros at this track, more than 60 drivers find their way to the well prepared Ettlingen track. Team XRAY was very well present at this race, with Alex Mehl in the 1:8 class on his brand new RX8. In the 1:10 scale class Simon Balk, Hartmut Rose, Holger Kraft and Dirk Wischnewski race there NT1 chassis.
1:8 Scale:
Alex Mehl took the TQ spot after 3 round of qualification in the 1:8 class. He was 12 sec faster as the driver in second place. His new RX 8 run without any problem for the whole final so he was able to win the race with a 4 lap lead.
1:10 Scale:
After 3 round of qualification Dirk Wischnewski was in the lead followed be his strong driving teammate Simon Balk. On his way to TQ Dirk set a new lap record of 13,2sec.
In the final Simon had some engine problems so he had to retire early in the race. Dirk won the race with an 3 lap lead in front of Patrick Gassauer and his teammate Hartmut Rose.
